Clinical Assessments

Sometimes, a person has emotional, behavioral, and ability levels that are difficult to understand, and the person may be referred for further evaluation to help clarify the underlying causes. A psychological assessment is a process through which a psychologist gathers information about a person’s functioning in order to discover strengths and weaknesses to help diagnose mental health concerns and provide treatment recommendations. The assessment may include a clinical interview with you, administration of psychological tests (e.g., personality, cognitive/intellectual, and/or behavioral measures), consultation with people involved in your life (e.g., family members, friends, teachers), review of relevant records, and observation of you in your environment. The procedure can require you to come in to the office anywhere from once to several times, depending on the amount and type of testing recommended. Once data is collected from any of the aforementioned procedures, the psychologist will analyze the data and make recommendations to aid with your treatment planning. When the assessment is completed, the psychologist will meet with you to review the results and recommendations. Currently, Kartta Group is able to provide clinical assessment services to individuals aged 6 years and older.
